Fruit and Exotic Fruit

It is interesting to think what it is you find exotic and why. Take this (exotic) fruit basket for example:

This was a very nice get well gift. Ten kilos or so of some of the finest fruit money can buy. Aside from the rose apples and dragon fruit, there's not a lot out of the ordinary to those of you in say, America for example. Apples, oranges, pears, and grapes are some of the more common fruits there, but in Thailand they (minus the oranges) are expensive and usually only bought by the upper classes and or for special occasions.

Luckily, Thai people need not rely upon expensive and imported fruit to get their fix when a plethora of cheap, fresh, and delicious fruit is often only a stone's throw away.

We greedily dove into the grapes and pears. They tasted like home.
